Germany is a land full of tourist highlights. Impressive landscapes, major cities, conurbations, coasts, mountains, rivers, lakes – our country is characterised by its great diversity. So it is no surprise that ‘staycations’ are becoming ever more popular among German citizens, while foreign guests too enjoy spending their holidays with us. Tourism therefore makes a decisive contribution to Germany’s image in the world, and is an industry with a bright future as a major employer and engine of economic growth. The Committee on Tourism reflects this significance. It works to create a favourable environment for the tourism sector, and seeks to ensure global trends are recognised promptly and incorporated into German marketing strategies.
