Bundestag to remember ex-Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl

At the beginning of it plenary sitting on Thursday, 22 June 2017, the German Bundestag will remember recently deceased former Federal Chancellor Dr Helmut Kohl. The speech of remembrance will be given by Bundestag President Professor Norbert Lammert. Helmut Kohl passed away on Friday, 16 June at the age of 87. He was Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany from 1982 to 1998 and was a Member of the Bundestag for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group from 1976 to 2002.
