Documentation and Information System (DIP)
The Documentation and Information System for Parliamentary Material (DIP) comprehensively documents the deliberations of the German Bundestag and the Bundesrat. The DIP includes not only the printed papers and plenary records from both houses of parliament, but also the full deliberation processes for the parliamentary items of business. In this way, the DIP documents the legislative process from the introduction of a bill to the promulgation of the legislation in the Federal Law Gazette. Likewise, speeches given by Members of the Bundestag, the Bundesrat and other political actors in the houses’ plenary chambers can be researched.
Deliberation processes are documented from the beginning of the 8th electoral term, namely the 14 December 1976. In addition, the German Bundestag’s documents (printed papers and plenary records) are available from the 1st electoral term, which started on 7 September 1949, as digital facsimiles (PDF). The Bundesrat’s documents are also available in the DIP, however earlier periods are still incomplete.
