Euro-Mediterranean Speakers Conference - Facts and figures

Aims: As part of the parliamentary dimension of the Barcelona Process, to promote, consolidate and develop opportunities for dialogue and understanding between participating countries and to contribute towards mastering the challenges arising in relation to security, stability, globalization, economic reform and social development

Membership: The presidents and speakers of the national parliaments of the EU Member States and the Southern Mediterranean countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the Palestinian territories, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey, as well as representatives of Libya and Mauritania as observers

Frequency of meetings: Every two years

Place of meeting: The country which holds the Presidency of the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly (EMPA) hosts the Euro-Mediterranean Speakers Conference
