Festival of Democracy celebrating the anniversary of the Basic Law

75 years ago, on 23 May 1949, the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany was promulgated. The German Bundestag is joining the anniversary celebrations with a Festival of Democracy – with programmes in both the federal capital Berlin and the federal city of Bonn. 
While the festivities in Berlin will take place in and around the Reichstag Building from Friday, 24 May until Sunday, 26 May, the German Bundestag will showcase itself in Bonn on Saturday, 25 May, from 11:00 – 19:00 in the former plenary building, now the World Conference Center, at Platz der Vereinten Nationen.
