The work of the Committee on Transport and Digital Infrastructure is of concern to everyone who lives in Germany because there are millions of people travelling around the country every day: for work, privately, in towns and cities, in the countryside, regionally and across national borders. Yet people are not only moving about in physical terms, they are also surfing the Internet. Germany is important both as a location for business and investment and a hub for European passenger and goods traffic. Its transport and digital infrastructure is a central factor in this context. Draft bills that relate to these fields are discussed in our committee before they are voted on by the plenary. Hearings can be conducted on them by the Committee in order to obtain detailed information and assessments from experts.
