“Labour and Social Affairs” – this term encompasses policy areas of relevance for everybody in society, such as pensions, labour-market policy, support for the unemployed and inclusion of people with disabilities. Our welfare systems, from unemployment benefit to pensions, have to be further developed and made fit for the future. The world of work is undergoing rapid change and is shaped by trade unions, employers and policymakers. We must ensure that everybody in society can participate. The work of this committee is of great importance for all generations.
