Speech by Isaac Herzog to the Bundestag

Isaac Herzog, President of the State of Israel, spoke in front of the German Bundestag and representatives of Germany’s constitutional bodies on Tuesday, 6 September 2022 as part of his state visit to Germany. Bundestag President Bärbel Bas gave a short welcome address prior to the speech. It is the first time the current Israeli President has spoken in front of the plenary of the Bundestag. His predecessor, Reuven Rivlin, last spoke to the Members of the Bundestag on 29 January 2020 at Parliament’s Ceremony of Remembrance marking the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp.
