The Bundestag remembered the victims of National Socialism with a special ceremony on Thursday, 27 January. This marked the 77th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp by Soviet troops on 27 January 1945. Following an opening address by Bundestag President Bärbel Bas, Holocaust survivor Dr. h. c. Inge Auerbacher and the Speaker of the Israeli Knesset, Mickey Levy, gave the commemorative speeches.
